Hazard hands Chelsea and Sarri major fitness boost ahead of Fulham clash

Eden Hazard has delivered an update on his injury status ahead of Chelsea's west London derby against Fulham on Sunday afternoon  The Belgian international, who was excellent in the Carabao Cup final penalty shoot-out loss against Manchester City last weekend, was rather quiet by his usual standards in the win over Tottenham Hotspur earlier in the week  So much so that he was replaced by Willian on the hour mark which is the first Premier League game he's failed to complete at least 70 minutes in under head coach Maurizio Sarri this season  Hazard delivered an honest assessment of his performance at Stamford Bridge, putting the below-par showing down to a thigh problem but says he should be OK to feature against the Cottagers   “I was not good I still felt the 120 minutes against City in my legs," he told reporters "And I had some pain in my thigh

I almost didn’t play, but the pain hasn’t aggravated  "I’m fine"  With the Blues back in Europa League action against Dynamo Kyiv next Thursday, this update from Hazard will certainly be a huge boost to Sarri as he looks to guide the club back into the Champions League next season  There's also a chance of finishing in the top four and Chelsea have upcoming games against Wolves as well as Everton before the international break later this month  Victory over the Lilywhites has seen the west London outfit stay within striking of Arsenal and they still have a game in hand, against Brighton and Hove Albion although a date for that fixture hasn't yet been announced  Hazard has been one of the standout players in the top flight of English football this season, scoring 12 goals and weighing in with 10 assists in 26 appearances   Keep up to date with the latest news, features and exclusives from footballlondon via the free football london app for iPhone and Android Available to download from the App Store and Google Play
