Revit Tips – How to Use 3 Most Popular Keyboard Shortcuts [Tutorial for BEGINNERS]

Hello and welcome to my channel I’d like to present you three very easy tips which make daily work in Revit smoothly

Actually these are my best friends, and I am sure they become yours in your first steps in Revit Okay, so now we are in Revit Hope you’re ready? It won’t be so complicated I promise Let me introduce you to the first of my best friends This is the tabulator in the other words, it is also called Tab key

You can find this key on the left side of your keyboard I will show you how usage of this key can help you in your daily work in Revit Using Tabulator you can easily get information about the elements, which are close to the cursor So we are in the project, let’s move the cursor here and stop – no click the first information without any clicking (of course) is that this is the basic wall, so now I press the Tabulator once And as you can see this is also a space… and I press Tabulator again – and I get information that this is a room area

Well, the conclusion is that with the Tabulator you can find full information about the elements under or close to the cursor, but I would like to show you something more… Tabulator is useful also during the action Let’s move here I would like to move this desk to this glass wall, but not to the face of this wall but precisely to the glass surface I choose “Align” actually one of my favorite command and I put the cursor on the wall and press Tabulator till my line is marked on blue, now I click

I choose the edge of the desk and simply it is moved to the wall Well, my second best friend is the Escape key, again left side of your keyboard so I can finish this chain of walls and I can make another wall in the other place Well, my second best friend is the Escape key, again left side of your keyboard It helps me in two ways I use it always when I miss the way or miss myself in the depths of Revit I simply press this key two times

so I can finish this chain of walls and I can make another wall in the other place I will show you how it works so I can finish this chain of walls and I can make another wall in the other place I’m during the action This is the command “Wall” so I am building walls and press Escape key the first time, so I can finish this chain of walls and I can make another wall in the other place

so I can finish this chain of walls and I can make another wall in the other place When I press the second time Escape key the action is completely finished and hmm, I stay with this not so proper and nice walls actually Well, It is good moment I suppose to get acquainted with my third best friend – shortcut “Control + z” so pressing this combination of keys you can easily undo the commands step by step, but I have something else up my sleeve… special for you When I change my mind so… I press the combination of “Control + y” and it cancels the last undo command I think it is very useful and …you know… you can play with these two shortcuts in easy way
